Our Children's Ministry Department offers a wide range of multi-faceted, age appropriate programs and classes for the spiritual, emotional and physical development of children ages newborn through 6th grade.

"Ducklings": Nursery - 9:30 AM -- Newborn through 12 months of age
"Turtles": Toddlers - 9:30 AM -- Walking toddlers through 24 months of age
"Frogs": Church Time - 9:30 AM -- For children 2 & 3 years old
Children's Church - 9:30 AM
Offered for children 4 years old through 2nd grade. Children begin in the Sanctuary and are dismissed partway through the Worship Service.
Sunday School - 10:50 AM
Sunday School is offered for children age 2 through 6th grade. The students are placed in classes according to grade level to provide an appropriate experience. Our goal is to bring students into a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ.

Well-Versed Kids :: Scripture Memory Program
Children in their elementary years have a great capacity to memorize just about anything. What better concepts to memorize than the Word of God? As they enter their adolescent years the Holy Spirit will use these verses to reach into their hearts and guide those important decisions they will ultimately face.
Our Well Versed Kids program for 3rd through 6th graders has been adapted from the Navigators’ book Topical Memory System for Kids. The memory program is divided into three main topics and offers different levels of scripture memory.
Memorizing scripture is God’s idea. Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.”
Well-Versed Kids Sunday is celebrated at the end of the school year. We acknowledge the children who complete the program during the worship services to celebrate their accomplishments.

Mid-Week Choir & Clubs
Mid-Week Choir & Clubs
Children's Choir :: 5:45 - 6:45 PM
This program is for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. The choir rehearses on Wednesdays from September through April to learn new songs and enjoy singing praises to our Lord. They perform occasionally at our Sunday morning church services and present a musical in the spring.
A registration fee of $20 per child is due in September in preparation for the musical. Click here to register for choir.
Wednesday Night Children's Clubs :: 6:45 - 8:00 PM
These programs offer age-appropriate Bible teaching along with fun activities to encourage children in their spiritual growth. The Children's Clubs are an 8-month program that follows the traditional school year, beginning in September and ending in April.
A Registration fee of $20 per child is due in September. Click here to register.
F.R.O.G.S (Friends Relying on God) - Children entering Kindergarten in 2023 or 2024 learn about Jesus through stories, games, activities, and leaders who care for them.
K.I.C.K.S (Kids in Christ's Kingdom) - 1st and 2nd graders grow through Bible stories, great leaders, games, activity books, and memory verses. They are awarded achievement pins as they progress through this program.
Pioneer Girls (Pioneer Clubs) - Girls in 3rd through 6th-grade search God's word to find answers to everyday concerns. They earn Bible badges as well as learn life skills through fun activities.
Stockade (Christian Service Brigade) - Our 3rd through 6th-grade boys grow mentally, physically, and spiritually using God's Word. They earn badges and awards throughout the year. Our annual StocKar Derby is the highlight of the year.

vacation Bible school :: June 17-21, 2024, 9AM - noon
Join us for a life-changing adventure as we learn about the love of Jesus through Bible stories, Bible verses, crafts, games, and missions. This FREE program is for children entering 1st through 6th grade. Preregistration is required. Online registration begins May 1.
PRESCHOOL MINI-CAMP :: July 9-11 2024, 9:30-noon
A three-day Mini-VBS designed especially for children 4 & 5 years old. Music, crafts, Bible lessons, snacks, and activities for preschoolers. Register by June 30. $20 per child

Angel Breakfast: A Nativity event for families :: December 2, 2023
This annual event for young children (ages 2 to 8) and their families is a perfect way to usher in the Christmas season. Space is limited, and tickets are required for this event. Brochure available to download

Gather for a fast-paced morning as we cheer on the Stockade boys and admire their creative cars.

Lighthouse Preschool was established in 1996 as a ministry of Modesto Covenant Church. Our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing environment that develops the whole child: socially, emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. We believe that our low teacher-to-child ratio combined with developmentally appropriate curriculum will provide your child with the opportunities needed to take him or her to the next level of learning.
